Woodbridge, NJ - May, 2008 - Onyx Equities, LLC reports positive leasing and renewal activity in the first quarter of 2008. The new leasing and expansion activity reported was at The Meadows Office Complex, one of Bergen County's most desirable office addresses, and at Edison Square, a premier office location based in the heart of Central, New Jersey
"While the state's commercial and industrial real estate marketplace is showing signs of caution in certain sectors, Onyx Equities continues to see interest in its properties," said Michael K. Nevins, Onyx's vice president of asset management. "The company's New Jersey properties are located throughout the northern and central parts of the state where we are seeing positive movement."
During the first quarter, Onyx Equities reports that The Muscular Dystrophy Association, an international voluntary health agency dedicated to conquering neuromuscular diseases, leased 2,257-square-foot office space, and L&T Infotech, a global IT services solutions provider, expanded their lease by 3,374 square feet at Edison Square in Edison, New Jersey. The key team of Paul Giannone, Kevin Carton and Todd Elfand of Jones Lang LaSalle handled the property on behalf of Onyx. Edison Square is a premier development consisting of three office buildings totaling 230,751 square feet and a 270 room Crowne Plaza Hotel and Conference Center. Onyx recently completed significant upgrades to the building's common areas and courtyard. This work has led to a significant increase in leasing activity at the property. In addition, Onyx expects to start construction of a 10,000-square-foot Children of America day care center this summer, adding another amenity to the complex. The Edison Square Office Complex is on State Highway 27 with convenient access to the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway.
At the Meadows Office Complex in the Meadowlands submarket, Control Point Solutions, a leading provider of voice, data, and wireless telecommunications expense management services, leased 23,407 square feet, and CUNO Incorporated, a world leader in the design, manufacture, and marketing of a comprehensive line of filtration products for the separation, clarification, and purification of fluids and gases, leased 2,107 square feet. Geoffrey Schubert of CB Richard Ellis represented Control Point and Dan Lessing of DSR Partners represented CUNO. The recently renovated Meadows Office Complex is a two building, 12-story Class-A office center offering tenants a full array of on-site amenities including concierge service, full service cafeteria, bank, fitness center, lobby coffee shop, board and seminar rooms, covered parking and on-site property management. In the heart of the Meadowlands submarket, the Meadows Office Complex is located at the interchange of Routes 17 and 3, one mile to the New Jersey Turnpike and four miles to Routes 80 and the Garden State Parkway.
